dj nehpets – na na na

*old song klaxon* been outright obsessing over this for the last week or so… chicago’s own dj nehpets originally dropped this r kelly-sampling banger in 1997, as part of his the funk child ep (dancemania), but I obviously only heard it, via my good pal jordan, because motor city drum ensemble dropped it at bloc a few weeks back.

taking that sing-a-long vocal, and a snippet of kels actually singing “somebody take my head off” sped up over a heavy house drumbeat just makes this more than a little irresistible, so it’s no wonder that people were flipping out hearing thrown into a set – i’d honestly be lucky to experience the same.
