paws – needle in the hay (elliott smith cover)

so one of scotland’s best bands, Paws, have covered (probably) my favourite singer-songwriter ever. even approaching a track by Elliott Smith could be considered sacrilege, so it’s kind of lucky that this grunge-y take on “needle in the hay” doesn’t compromise on the original’s inspired intensity. It’s a touching tribute, especially in this year that commemorates the tenth year since his untimely passing.
