I was fortunate enough to be browsing fb when Gilles Peterson posted this from his label Brownswood. I have a lot of love for their compilation series “Brownswood Bubblers”, if you haven’t listened to any of them, they are truly good compilations. It’s hard to say that often, the compilation is a tricky record.
This is Philip Owusu, and his track “Goodnight” featured on Bubblers 10. Simply, amazing contemporary soul music. There is not one sound in this that lacks, each played with extraordinary skill and melody. Gahh, just amazing.
