ides – chokehold

I’m not sure why we’ve not written about the music of Alanna McCardle before, ’cause her stuff as Ides is easily up there as some of the strongest solo work around. Thoroughly sadcore, it’s undeniable that “Chokehold” is one of her finest tracks to date, an inevitable progression that pushes the points of comparison amongst the likes of Waxahatchee and, dare I say it, Elliott Smith. It’s really that good.

It’s part of a split single with King of Cats, that you can pre-order now. It’s genuinely the first 7″ single I’ve wanted in a long time.
