GENESIS

There’s more than one reason that I currently have a picture of Claire Boucher (a.k.a. Grimes) as my desktop background. Beside how simply visually stunning she is, it’s the fact she is on some other plane in terms of an immense, incredible creative roll right now. With the oncoming Visions album, due out this Feb via 4AD, and off the back of such bangers as “Vanessa” and the endlessly charming “Nightmusic”, 2012 is gonna be a big year for Boucher and this latest teaser was never really going to disappoint now was it? “Genesis” is the otherworldly soundtrack to some ADHD-driven Wong Kar Wai film that’s just waiting to be made, a lush soundscape full of mumbled words and stark neon synths. I’m growing more in love with her by the day.
