HOW COME YOU NEVER GO THERE?

A shot of bittersweet melancholy is the first to greet you as the new Feist single opens, her beautifully husky vocals straining that titular question over and over. Half knowing that she’ll probably never receive an answer, half in dire hope that her sincere effort will stick. It’s causing a certain stirring in my bones every time I hit that play button, an emphatic surge of emotion that stretches out over it’s three minute, twenty-four second run time. I can do nothing but implore you to listen.
