TAME THE SUN

Male Bonding’s lead singer John Arthur Webb tells Spin that “‘Tame the Sun’ is about realizing that you can’t control what other people do, no matter how much it may piss you off, or make you sad, or how much you want to help someone. It’s about trying to be more apathetic about that stuff.” It’s definitely a message I can relate to, and with it’s shorter running time, as opposed to the other new album track “Bones”, and snappy, direct sound that shrugs off their former material’s more fuzzy quality with ease, it feels like some kind of clear, abrupt reminder to stop worrying, to take a step back and chill out. To borrow from Kerouac’s On the Road, “[...] we should realize what it would mean to us to UNDERSTAND that were not REALLY worried about ANYTHING.”
