DOORWAY / THE BREAKS

Janine Rostron, who has previously collaborated with The Knife, is bringing out a new album under the Planningtorock moniker, W, out May 24th on DFA / Rostron Records. The following video, starring, directed and edited by Rostron, is for her upcoming single “The Breaks” and with it’s spooky melodramatic action, it will probably leave you more than a little freaked out, the song itself is an addictive and funked out spectacular that’s actually quite stunning despite it’s unsettling qualities.

There’s also the track “Doorway”, an equally unsettling track possessing a deep undertone that never subsides, even with Rostron’s vocals kicking in, it’s track’s most striking element. A layered and vibrant song that will freak you out as much as it will entice you to dance, “Doorway” has also been remixed by the up and coming CREEP, who go on to give the track a spaced out and less impulsive drive, it’s no worse off for it, as heavier bass drops seem to contrast even more strongly against the echoed backdrop. Check them out below.
