ALBATROSS

In 2009, Wild Beasts ripped up the internet, with blogs and websites alike bigging them up to be something special. We were not let down, “Two Dancers” was one of the albums of the year.
Back for 2011, Wild Beasts have released the first single, “Albatross”, off “Smother”, which is due to be released some time later this year. With considerable hype, “Albatross”, does not disappoint. Coming in with a rather looming synth, the track breaks down in to a laid back acoustic riff and Haydon Thorpes, soft operatic voice floats in. The track has piano, something a little different from the last album, it feels softer, but yet still has that drive that comes from Haydon’s vocals.

Listening to “Albatross“, I’m pretty sure “Smother” is set to land upon our albums of the year list. “Albatross” should be released on Record Shop Day, on super limited edition vinyl, so make sure you get yours hands on a copy. Wild Beast’s look to tear it up again.
