There’s a good thing about endlessly listening to Girl Talk, it’s the attention it brings to the multitude of samples used. For example, this by Skee-Lo. I love this song! The vocal part is dropped over the top of T’Pau song “Heart & Soul” and it’s a mix made in heaven. I love the blunt and honest raps, who wouldn’t? I totally understand why this was a one hit wonder. It’s relatable and sounds true, which is nice but obviously not capable of spreading over various songs as compared to the stereotypical, “loads of money, loads of women,” base rap lyrical ideal.
