AHHH SHIT: Duologue

Ahhh Shit is a recurring post on any new band, song or video that has recently grabbed my attention. Yes, the title is a reference to the opening of Potholderz by MF Doom

Another mysteriously interesting band for your audial pleasure. Duologue, like the previously featured Ghost Eyes, have little information prevalent on the web. It seems to be a growing trend that instead of listing everything in an effort to promote, revealing little or no information makes it all seem that much better. It’s tantalizing. And fitting seeing that websites like MySpace are set to fall.

The track I’m about to share with you, “Cut & Run”, has a wailing vocalist and a melodic guitar opening the proceedings before a Hans Zimmer Inception-styled kick into a crescendo of noise. The handclaps and drumbeats making the whole thing seem more industrial, mechanical and most of all threatening. The singer doesn’t understand and there’s some kind of price to pay. His sombre tone and honest lyrics contrast against the angered and enraged musicality. The beat itself seems to be urging forward, trying to escape. It’s weird. But, to be honest, that really works well. Check it out and their sparse website below:
