QUICK DOWNLOAD: The Drums
The Drums have been riding a big wave of popularity in the UK with the release of their self-titled debut album. They’ve recently recorded this lovely Arcade Fire cover for the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge. Of course, I wouldn’t be featuring it unless it was a cover of a song so brilliant and fresh in our collective minds, seeing as the album was released only a little while ago, and of course, most recently with it’s brilliant interactive video. Yes, I am talking about “We Used to Wait” and whilst the Drums’ version could never emulate or better the Arcade Fire original it’s definitely a interesting take, filled with a lo-fi, droning, almost, drowned out surfy aesthetic.
