If Jai Paul’s phenomenal “BTSTU” being sampled by Drake sounded like a repulsive prospect, as it did to me mere hours ago, take a deep breath and have a listen to “Dreams Money Can Buy”. Because it ain’t half bad. Scratch that, it’s fucking sweet. By turning what is easily one of the best (re-)releases this year into his backing beat and pulling it off with aplomb means I regard Drake a lot more highly right now. In another move that’s understandably increased indie cred, he remixed and guest versed on a recently released SBTRKT song.
