IMPRESSIONS: James Blake – Limit To Your Love

In a continuation of the complete obsession I’ve been having with James Blake right now, listen below to his forthcoming single, a cover of Feist’s “Limit To Your Love”. Blake himself even sings on the track, which, by pushing it centre-stage, shows off a truly astounding voice. It’s a strong departure from his glitchy, cut-up vocal samples from his last two EPs. There’s a soothing, yet haunting piano part, similar to the songs on Klavierwerke before it is worked into a lovely beat that doesn’t detract from the sombre tone of his singing but adds that touch of desolation and sadness that the song is striving for prior. It’s got myself feeling even more hyped for his album’s eventual release.
