watch: Halls Interview
On the fourth of February, we met up with Sam Howard, a.k.a Halls, an up and coming electronic producer that we previously have featured here. We talked with him about his creative process, his influences and remix work as well as his plans for the future, with a new EP, Fragile, being released at the end of this month. He also discussed his live plans which include a debut show at the end of March and a couple of dates following, all of which will have a live set up where Howard will be accompanied by friends aiming to provide a different experience of his music. [...] Halls, the emerging South London producer released his video for latest single “Solace” yesterday, premiered through the DUMMY Magazine website. It’s an alluring affair, blending montage and footage of Howard alone in a vast open space, perhaps a theatre or an empty swimming pool? It blends to the music quite fittingly, the images repeated much like the looped samples in the music itself. It also effectively highlights that sense of foreboding and underpinning angst present on the song.
